All About SOUL…

The Southern Ocean Union of Longboarders S.O.U.L was formed in October 2004 by Larry Hayes, Brian Tucker, Paul Fletcher, Glenn Emslie, Chris Meier and Craig Robertson.

The first paid up member of the club was Simon Thorne. Since the early beginning SOUL has established itself as a family, social and fun orientated longboard club. SOUL brings together male and female longboard surfers of all ages from the Barwon Heads, Ocean Grove area and as far as the western suburbs of Melbourne.

Every year we plan to hold ten Club aggregate competitive events from February to November.  These are held on the 3rd Saturday of the month, however this is subject to change if there is a clash with State titles or other events.

The Club also runs the Victorian Old Mal Titles and competes against Maladjusted SA in Interstate Longboard Challenge.

Other events such as Coaching and Judging clinics are organised from time to time as well as social functions during the year.

all-about

…From The President

As one of the founding members of SOUL, I am passionate about our club and what we can provide to the locals. The club is steeped in history, and is inclusive and exciting times ahead.

Furthermore, SOUL encourages and supports it’s members to participate in state and national longboarding competitions and surf judging training sessions.

If you are interested in joining our club, we would welcome you.
